When Corey Manning, co-owner of Chateau Diana, in Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County, learned 1.25 acres of Zinfandel would be removed at Chateau Diana, the winery his parents founded in 1981, he decided rather than another vacant field he would plant 3,000 sunflowers of 12 different varieties.

"I’ve been shocked to see how excited people are to drink wine among the sunflowers,” he says. Because different varieties bloom at different times, the garden is designed to remain colorful throughout the growing season.
