# Co-Packing Legal in Wisconsin

Contract manufacturing, or co-packing, and alternating proprietorship arrangements between properly permitted industry members are legal in Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Department of Revenue ruled.

The ruling was a reversal of an earlier decision which had held these agreements were prohibited by state law. This petition for declaratory judgment was the first ever filed on an issue arising under Chapter 125, which governs alcohol permitting and licensing in Wisconsin.
