[Vivac Winery](https://rickyallen.com/properties/2075-state-road-68-embudo-nm-us-87527-202601774?ref=bevnews.net), one of New Mexico's most celebrated wineries and a pioneer in high-altitude American viticulture, has been listed for $1.6 million. The listing is represented by the [Ricky Allen & Tara Earley Real Estate Group](https://rickyallen.com/properties/2075-state-road-68-embudo-nm-us-87527-202601774?ref=bevnews.net).

The 11.5-acre property has helped shape New Mexico’s reputation as one of the oldest wine-producing regions in the United States. With a winemaking heritage dating back to the early 1600s, New Mexico predates every major American wine region except Virginia, and Vivac Winery has become one of the state’s most influential ambassadors on the international stage.

Internationally recognized for producing world-class dry red wines, Vivac Winery has earned prestigious honors from the **Berliner Wein Trophy** in Germany and **Mondial des Vins Extrêmes** in Italy. Its estate vineyard is certified by CERVIM for Heroic Viticulture, recognizing it as one of the world’s highest-altitude vinifera vineyards—a distinction reserved for vineyards cultivating grapes under extraordinary growing conditions.

Set at nearly 6,000 feet in elevation between the dramatic sandstone bluffs of the Rio Embudo Valley, the winery occupies one of the Southwest’s most picturesque vineyard settings. Positioned at the crossroads of Highways 68 and 75, just 25 minutes from Taos and one hour from Santa Fe, the property welcomes visitors traveling between two of New Mexico’s premier tourism destinations.

The property’s 900-square-foot adobe tasting room features vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, a handcrafted flagstone bar, custom wine displays, a commercial-grade kitchen, accessible facilities, and French doors opening onto a vine-covered patio.

The offering includes approximately 11 bonded vineyard acres, terraced gardens, riverside picnic areas, and direct access to the Rio Embudo. Guests can wander through the vines, fish along the riverbank, or experience one of Northern New Mexico’s most distinctive wine destinations. Beyond its established reputation, the property offers significant room for future growth.
