# Jack Daniel Intros American Single Malt Whiskey

**Jack Daniel Distillery** (Brown-Forman) announced the nationwide U.S. release of **Jack Daniel’s American Single Malt Whiskey**, a limited expression that was previously available exclusively in select duty-free retail locations around the world. 

The release arrives as American Single Malt becomes an officially recognized whiskey category, marking the first new official whiskey category recognized by the **Alcohol & Tobacco Tax & Trade Bureau** (TTB) in more than 50 years. 

**How It's Made:** The expression features a 100% malted barley mash bill that is ground, fermented, and distilled in Lynchburg, Tennessee. The whiskey is charcoal mellowed through sugar maple charcoal, aged in new, charred American oak barrels, and finished in Oloroso Sherry casks. 

**On the Nose and Palate:** Jack Daniel’s American Single Malt is rich and complex with aromas of soft oak, fruit and cocoa and notes of dark chocolate-covered nuts and berries with a subtle, sweet Oloroso Sherry finish. 

**Available:**  Nationwide for a limited time and in limited quantities, the 90-proof whiskey comes in a 1-liter bottle for a suggested retail price of $74.99\.
