Imported Mexican shipments declined by -11.7% from a year earlier in November, while Dutch imports had less drastic declines, down -4.8% compared to November 2021, **Beer Institute** reported after analyzing Commerce Department data.

Imported shipments from all countries totaled 2,945,700 barrels, down more than 340,000 barrels (-10.4%) compared to November 2021\. Mexican imported beer accounts for nearly 80% of total imported shipments, and as such, contributed to much of the decline for the latest available data.

In analyzing the import data from the Commerce Department, Beer Institut**e** noted that what complicates these trends is that November 2021 was an equally soft month, with trends down -6.1% for total imports. However, at this time last year, Mexican imports were still in the black, up 2.1% compared to November 2020.

Despite this downward trend and slowing of growth in recent months, year-to-date shipments remain positive, up 2.7% for the months of January through November of 2022 compared to the same months last year, Beer Institute said.
