# U.S. Beer Production Fell 3.6% in November

The volume of beer produced in the U.S. fell 3.6% in November to 10 million barrels, the **Beer Institute** estimated. It noted that that year-to-date decrease was 5.4% year-over-year through November.

**Andrew Heritage,** BI's economist, noted that the three most recent months (September through November) "were all a couple percentage points above the annual trend."

## Mexican Beer Imports Grew in October

There was some good news, especially for Constellation Brands, in October: Imported beer from Mexico stabilized, growing 1% year-over-year. 

But overall, imported beer volumes to the U.S. continued to decline in October, falling some 2.6% year-over-year, according to Commerce Department figures. The year-to-date trend through October is down 6.1%.

**Andrew Heritage,**BI's economist, forecasts "a similar decline of -2.5% for imports in November, which would bring an unofficial year-to-date trend to -5.8%."
