MGP Idles Operations at 2 Kentucky Facilities
Thirty-three workers at two MGP Ingredients, Inc. have become the latest victims of President Trump's tariffs, which caused U.S. whskey exports to the EU to fall 33% 70% to Canada. MGP became the third U.S. distiller to announce plans to temporarily idle distilling operations.
Moderate Wine Consumption in Men Linked to Slower Biological Aging
Men who consumed about 1.5 to 2 classes of red wine with a traditional Mediterranean Diet were about 0.4years biologically younger than non-drinkers. That's the conclusion of a new study just reported in the International Journal of Public Health. Men who drank excessively had worse outcomes.
Southwest Air to Ship Wine Cases for Free
Southwest Airlines says it will allow passengers to ship home a complete case of wine from some wine country locations without incurring checked baggage costs. Whether this will offset the pain of Southwest increasing its checked bag fee on most U.S. mainland itineraries to $45 and the second to $55.
Treasury Wine Renews Consultancy Agreements
Treausry Wine Estates said it renewsed consultancy agreements with Leslie and Rich Frank the former owners of Frank Family Vineyards which TWE acquired in 2021. As is typical with acquisitions of privately held companies, TWE entered into consultancy agreements.
