Brion Wise, a former oil industry executive turned winery owner, has acquired Montagna, a 128-acre estate, at 1,200 feet elevation, which includes 42 acres and a 20,000-foot cave atop Napa's Pritchard Hill. Terms weren't disclosed, but in the early 2000s ot listed for $55 million.
It will become the future home of Wise's Wines, which specializes in pricey, single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.
Wise told the San Francisco Chronicle the estimated price per acre in Pritchard Hill starts at $1 million.
The purchase comes just three months after Wise acquired Mark Herold Wines.
