Opinion:  How the Biden administration can slow the GOP’s dangerous schemes

A columnist for The Washington Post cites Sec. 4 of the 14th Amendment as forbidding defaulting on the nation's debts.  If Congress won't raise the debt ceiling – or cut spending and raise taxes enough to insure the nation does not default of its debt--the President is required to borrow to prevent a default.
