King Estate Acquires Pfeiffer Winery

King Estate Winery, Eugene, Ore., said it acquired longtime vineyard partner Pfeiffer Winery & Vineyards, a 70-acre site in nearby Junction City. The two wineries have been friends, collaborators and vineyard partners since King Estate first purchased fruit from Pfeiffer in 1992, a relationship that continues to this day.  Terms weren't disclosed.

The Pfeiffer site of mostly Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris will increase King Estate’s vineyard (acres planted to vine) by 15%. King Estate has some 50 vineyard partners in Oregon and Washington.

Established in 1983, Pfeiffer Winery was owned by Robin and Danuta Pfeiffer. King Estate was founded in 1991. At 1,033 acres, King Estate is the largest Biodynamic® vineyard in North America.
