Miss. House Okays Direct Shipment of Liquor, Sunday Sales, Imposes 15.5% Tax

The Mississippi House approved 62-47 and sent to the state Senate bills permitting the direct shipment of liquor to consumers and approved a measure allowing local authorities to permit the sale of alcohol on Sunday. Rep. Hank Zuber (R) said the measures will bring Mississippi's liquor laws "into the 21st Century."
