Myrtle Beach, SC, A-B Distributorship Reported Sold

Myrtle Beach Better Brands, the Anhueser-Busch distributorship in the resort community and surrounding area has been sold. according to MyrtleBeachSC.com, a local news portal, which said an offer for $300 million had been on the table from Southern Crown Partners, Charleston, S.C.  

Myrtle Beach Mayor Brenda Bethune and Mike Riley were partners in the distributorship, which sells more than4 million cases a year.  Bethune didn't immediately respond to a request for comment, and it wasn't known whether Southern Crown was the buyer.

The sale reported did not include the distribution center or the land under the distribution center.  

Better Brands was founded in 1965 by John T. Stanko.  William Spadoni, who joined the company soon after its founding, purchased it 10 years later.  Brenda Bethune is Spadoni's daughter.
