Napa Declares Winery Code Compliance Program a Success, Sets End for April 30
The program which began in 2018 enabled 35 wineries to correct use perrmit violations while continuing operations. Forty-seven wineries had expressed interest in the program. Three additional applications are scheduled for hearings to come into compliance this month and one application is pending. Remaining eight applications were abandoned or withdrawn.

The processoften involved the county raising limits on wine productions, marketing and visiting to current levels or higher, allowing room for future growth. Wineries, for their part, had to make improvements to comply with every-changing state regulations.
One county supervisor noted participants in the program put in a significant amount to work to comply with changing state rules, even though the county's own winery rules didn't change during the life of the program.
