After sitting on the market for more than a year with a $43 million price, Benessere Vineyards, the original home of Charles Shaw Winery will be auctioned off in late May. Bidding is expected to start between $8 million and $12 million.

Benessere Vineyards is a complete, 42-plus acre estate, encompassing a namesake winery, tasting room, and two well-appointed residences across 6,300-plus square feet of combined living space, with sweeping vineyard and valley views, according to the listing by Concierege Auctions. About 29 acres are planted or in redevelopment.

Tucked at the end of a quiet country lane and flanked by the Napa River, the up-valley location is both private and convenient. Approximately 29 acres of planted vines unfold along the organic riverine landscape, creating an agrarian setting of rare completeness. 

Benessere has been known for focusing on Italian grape varieties, and the auction includes rare Italian grape varietites not commonly found in the area.
