TTB Product Approvals Eased in 12 Months Ending in July

The decrease was hardly earth-shattering, just 0.4%, bw166 notes. It would have been worse without spirits. Some 22,500 spirits products were approved by TTB in the 12 months ended June 30, up 5.3% from a year earlier, and 6,300 were approved in the second quarter, up 9.8%.

It would have been worse without spirits.  Some 22,500 spirits products were approved by Alcohol & Tobacco Tax & Trade Bureau in the 12 months ended June 30, up 5.3% from a year earlier, and 6,300 were approved in the second quarter, up 9.8%.  

Wine approvals were down both for the 12 months (110,500, down 2.8%) and for the quarter (31,500, down 0.5%).  As for beer, some 43,000 beer products were approved over the last 12 months, up 3.2% from a year earlier, but the 9,900 approved in the last three months was down 3.5% from the like earlier earlier quarter.

Domestic approvals were down both for the 12 months (94,700, -1.9%) and for the quarter (24,000, -2.5%).  Imports, however were up, with 81,300 approvals (+1.3%) for the 12 months and 23,200 (+3%) for the quarter.
