Cascade Lakes Brewing, Crux Fermentation Project, GoodLife Brewing, Silver Moon Brewing, and Tumalo Cider are now part of one entity: the Oregon Beverage Collective. 

Cascade Lakes Brewing announced that it was merging with Crux Fermentation. Terms weren't disclosed. The other members are independently owned.

The idea behind the the Oregon Beverage Collective is to increase operational efficiency by combining administrative, production, and distribution operations. This isn't a new technique to deal with hard times: During the Great Depression a number of newspapers did the same thing. In St. Petersburg, Fla., for instance, the Evening Independent and the St. Petersburg Times formed a joint venture printing company to print their papers.

Reportedly, the Collective intends to retain as many employees as possible and continue operating the affected neighborhood pubs and taprooms.
