CBrands 2Q Sales Fall 3.3%, Net Plunges 46%; Beer Biz Sales Advance 5%
Constellation Brands Inc. reports for the second quarter sales of $3096.5 billion, down 3.3% from the prior year. Net Income fell 46% to $231.7 million, or $1.58 a share.
In the Beer Business, shipments rose 5.5% to 123.9 million cases, depletions eased 0.6% and net sales also for 5% to $2.473.5 million. Operating income gained 1%.
Depletions decreased 0.6% as declines for Modelo Especial of about 2% and Corona Extra of about 5% were partially offset by growth from Pacifico, Victoria, and the Modelo Chelada brands of approximately 19%, 15%, and 5%, respectively. One additional sell day during the quarter was largely offset by a shift in the timing of the Labor Day holiday, resulting in minimal impact on underlying depletion trends.
Constellation said its Beer Business ranked as the No.1 dollar and volume share gainer in Circana U.S. tracked channels and had five of the top-15 dollar share-gaining brands across the entire U.S. beer category:
Modelo Especial maintained its position as the No. 1 brand by dollar sales and was the No. 3 dollar share gainer. Within the brand family, Modelo Chelada Limón y Sal was the No. 6 dollar share gainer; Corona Extra remained a top-five brand by dollar sales, while Corona Familiar was the No. 14 dollar share gainer; Pacifico and Victoria were the No. 2 and No.10 dollar share gainers, respectively, and Pacifico became a top-10 brand by dollar sales.
In the Wine & Spirits division, CBrands shipped 1.5 million 9-liter cases, up 15.4% from the like 2025 quarter. Net sales advanced 17%. Depletions increased 10.2%, driven by growth from Kim Crawford and Mi CAMPO of about 11% and 51%, respectively.
Across Circana U.S. tracked channels, Molson Coors said its wine and spirits portfolio outpaced the total wine and spirits category in both dollar and volume sales, as its wine portfolio was the No. 3 dollar share gainer in the total wine category.
