Creators of 1st Dairy-Free Bourbon Cream Launch Crowdfunding

Misunderstood Brands, the company behind Oatrageous Oat Milk Cream Liqueur and Misunderstood Whiskey Co., launched its Regulation Crowdfunding (Reg CF) offering on Wefunder (https://wefunder.com/misunderstood.brands), opening the company's growth story to everyday investors for the first time. The round allows fans, industry insiders, and consumer-brand investors to invest starting at $100.

In 2025, Misunderstood Brands had sales of $1.7 million, up 25% from a year earlier. Retail depletions were up 32% last year. It has about 32,000 retail point in 32 statees. Account reorder rate is above 50%.

Oatrageous and Misunderstood Whiskey are both available at Total Wine & More, Wegmans, Publix, Spec's, and Meijer, with Walmart and Whole Foods slated for Q4 2026. Oatrageous Espresso is also served as an exclusive cream liqueur on JetBlue flights, reaching an estimated 40 million customers nationwide.

The company was also awarded a Golden Ticket at Walmart's Open Call, extended to roughly 1 in 5 invited brands, and is preparing a national rollout tied to a 100-store Florida pilot launching this fall.

The offering is structured as a SAFE with an $14MM valuation cap and a 20% discount, targeting $1,235,000 under Regulation Crowdfunding. The minimum investment is $100. Proceeds are earmarked for sales headcount, local advertising and promotion, new product COGS, digital marketing, and working capital as the company scales distribution and launches a new 100mL premium canned RTD line — currently the fastest-growing category in beverage alcohol and already approved for distribution at Total Wine.

Misunderstood Brands is backed by a board and advisory group whose members include alumni of Bacardi, Pernod Ricard, Beam Suntory, Campari, Diageo, William Grant & Sons, Sazerac, and Moët Hennessy. Advisors also include Karen Weiler, former Global Brand President of M.A.C. Cosmetics, and Brooke Swensen, Chief Commercial Officer of Ripple Foods.
