Feds Probing Uncle Nearest

Uncle Nearest Inc. is being investigated by Federal agents, Philip G. Young, the court-appointed receiver disclosed in a filing, in which he advised the court he had retained Simms Funk, a boutique Nashville, Tenn., firm that specializes in white collar and corporate investigations and regulatory and administrative law among other practice areas. Simms Funk is to advise how to respond to the federal investigation.

The notice didn't disclose what the investigation was about, but given previous disclosures about accounting records prior to 2024 having been wiped from Uncle Nearest's computer system along with no tax returns ever having been filed with the IRS and TTB, those are probably the areas on which the federal investigators are focused.
