House Votes to Delay Hemp THC Product Ban

Part of the stop=gap federal funding bill that keeps the government funded until Dec. 11 is a provision that delays recriminalization of hemp THC products that had been scheduled to take place to the end of November.

The funding bill, including the THC extension, now goes to President Trump's desk. If Trump signs the measure, the effective date of the THC ban will be moved to Dec. 11.

Hemp derivatives with less than 0.3 percent delta-9 THC on a dry-weight basis were legal under the 2018 Farm Bill that President Donald Trump signed during his first term in office.

But late last year, the president signed new legislation containing provisions that changed the threshold so only hemp THC products with 0.4 milligrams of total THC per container were to remain legal after Nov.r 12. The new legislation changes that effective day to Dec. 11.
