Luca Mariano Distillery Breaks Ground
Ultimately, the distillery will have two distilleries on property near Danville, Ky. The larger will have three 36-inch column stills and will produce about 180,000 barrels a year. The craft distillery will have an 18-inch column still to produce about 15,000 barrels a year.
The craft distillery will be named aftter the newly hired master distiller, David Phillips. Phillips previously led operations at Jim Beam Distillery and Bulleit Distillery.
The distilleries will be next to the oldest stone house in Kentucky, the William Crowe house, which is in major disrepair. The house will be repaired once the distilleries are profitable.
