Maison Ferrand Marks 25th Anniversary with Juniper Decadence

The limited-edition release was created in honor of Citadelle’s 25th anniversary and new distillery. In 1996, Alexandre Gabriel unveiled Citadelle Gin, the first handcrafted French gin. With his visionary creation, Gabriel made history in the field of juniper spirits.

A large portion of the juniper berries used in its composition were grown in Cognac, a short distance from the distillery.  Juniper Décadence is also an ode to the art of ageing, this time, aged in small juniper barrels. Since the juniper is a modestly sized tree, its wood is not suitable for making long, curved staves, as it is too hard to bend, so special small casks were built with straight sides.

Citadelle Gin Juniper Décadence is  available in select U.S. markets and is bottled at 44.4% alcohol by volume (88.8 proof).  SRP: $34.99 for a 700ml bottle.
