People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) called on FIFA to reject Budweiser as the beer sponsor for the 2026 Men's World Cup if the beer-maker won’t stop amputating the tailbones of its iconic Clydesdales.

PETA says the practice causes the horses "immense pain" and serves no practical purpose, and adds horses depend on their tails "to communicate with herdmates and humans."

We asked Anheuser-Busch for comment.
