SPIRIT Act Has NOT Passed Congress
We're not in the habit of correcting other publications errors – we have enough of our own – but this one is so egregious that we feel we have to correct the record.
From The Spirits Business for June 30; "Yesterday (29 June), the Supporting Producers Through Incentives from Rural Ingredients and Tax Relief Act (Spirit Act) bipartisan legislation was passed."
That is 100% wrong. The bill was only introduced on June 23 and was referred to the House Ways & Means Committee. There have been no hearings and no votes.
This error was compounded by the fact it headlined WSWA's Daily News Clips, which is produced not by WSWA but by Multiview, a digital marketing company with offices in Texas, Canada, Utah and Washington, D.C., that provides services to 850 trade associations.
