St. Supery Buys 48-Acre Vineyard for $14.8 Million

St. Supery Estate Vineyards & Winery purchased a 48-acre vineyard in Napa Valley's Rutherford appellation. The seller was LMR Wine Estates, and the transaction was estimated to be valued at $14.8 million.

The purchase brings St. Supery's Napa Valley holdings to more than 1,600 acres, include 575 vineyard acres.  The company grows 8% of all Napa Valley's Sauvignon Blanc.

“As one of the largest estate wineries in Napa Valley, we were yet to plant Sauvignon Blanc outside of our Dollarhide Estate Vineyard,” CEO Emma Swain said. “The fruit from this new vineyard site in Rutherford is so nuanced and layered. Our winemaking team plans to ferment the blocks separately and trial various fermenting and aging techniques in 2023.”

LMR Wine Estates, the seller, will continue to source some fruit from the vineyard.  LMR is a family owned company also known as Long Meadow Ranch.  It farms vineyards, fruits and vegetables on about 2,500 acres in Napa, Humboldt, Mendocino and Marin counties.
