Trump Exempts Bulk Wine from Ban on Importing Canadian Bev/Al

President Trump's ban on the importation of alcoholic beverages from Canada takes effect nine days from today, on Sept. 29.

But the ban won't help McManis Family Vineyards or other winegrape growers who sell significant amounts of U.S.-grown wine in bulk to U.S. wineries. The same proclamation that imposed the bev/al ban on Canadian packaged products exempted bulk wines. About 90% of McManis's production was bulk wine. The 50% ad valorem duty remains in effect on those bulk wine products from Canada.
