Veritas Legacy Partners Closes Acquisition of Veritas Vineyard & Winery

Veritas Legacy Partners said it closed on the acquisition of Veritas Vineyard & Winery, one of Virginia’s premier wine and vino-tourism destinations. The closing follows the transaction agreement announced earlier this year and marks a seamless transition into the winery’s next era of growth and stewardship.

VLP was formed by Charlottesville, Va., entrepreneurs Architect Kurt Wassenaar and veteran real estate investor Eric Trebour. Veritas Legacy Partners was established to honor and expand the 27-year legacy created by founders Dr. Andrew and Patricia Hodson.

As active co-owners, Wassenaar and Trebour maintain executive oversight while empowering a dedicated three-person operating team to lead day-to-day operations and strategic growth. Daily tasting room operations, wine club memberships, Farmhouse accommodations, weddings, and private events continue without interruption.

As part of the closing, Veritas Legacy Partners announced a three-person executive operating team to lead the business forward:

Andy Murphy steps into the role of Chief Executive Officer. Having served as VLP’s hospitality consultant prior to the acquisition, Andy brings executive leadership experience and an extensive background in luxury hospitality, strategy, and guest experience.

Emily Hodson joins the executive operating leadership team and has been named Chief Production Officer and Head Winemaker, continuing her own legacy at Veritas as one of the most decorated winemakers in Virginia. Hodson will oversee all winemaking verticals — including still wines, sparkling wines, new products and expanded production services.

Allison Evanow transitions from her consulting role on wine sales and marketing to Chief Commercial Officer. Bringing over 25 years of beverage industry experience across wine and craft spirits, Evanow oversees commercial operations, brand marketing, product innovation, and commercial wine services.

Additionally, George Hodson transitions from CEO to Strategic Advisor, providing ongoing guidance and institutional continuity to the executive team.

The acquisition represents the largest Virginia winery transaction brokered by a real estate agent to date. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
