"Since the war began on Feb. 28, Americans have paid a total of $56.4 billion more, or $477 more per household, on the gas they need to commute to work, run errands, pick up their kids, and live their daily lives," the committee says.  

Additionally, today’s national average gas price sits at $3.87 per gallon, which is about 30% higher than before the start of the war, the committee Democrats, led by Sen. Maggie Hassan, said. .
