Dewar's Offers Champion's Edition for U.S. Open
This year's U.S. Open will take place on Father's Day weekend, June 19-21, and Dewar's, the tournament's official Scotch whiskey, has released Dewar's 19 Year Old 'The Champion's Edition' finished in Old Cabernet Franc Red Wine Casks.
this year's iteration was inspired by the local terrain of the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club and was finished in Cabernet Franc Red Wine Casks from the renowned Hamptons winery, the Wölffer Estate. This release continues Dewar’s tradition of innovative cask finishes that define The Champions Edition series.
Featuring an aroma of violets, complemented by the vibrant fruitiness of blackcurrants, the Scotch whisky is enhanced by the Cabernet Franc finish imparting beautifully balanced tasting notes of golden honey, a medley of syrupy red berries, and warm cinnamon.
Crafted by six-time Master Blender Stephanie Macleod, the 19 year old maturation period reflects the timeless ritual of the post-round toast, crafted for gatherings and lasting celebrations, making it the perfect gift for any whisky enthusiast or golf lover’s this Father’s Day.
Dewar’s ‘Lemon Wedge’ is also making a return as the signature cocktail of this year’s U.S. Open. It's made with Dewar’s 12 Year Old, fresh lemonade, and club soda.
