Fire Destroys Winery Holding 4.5 Million Gallons

The cause of a fire that destroyed a Mattawa, Wash., winery remains unknown.

No injuries were reported. Employees who were in the building, and who initially sought to contain the fire, were able to evacuate. The facility held about 4.5 million gallons of wine, some in production, some in storage. The building was also the site of the company's tasting room.
