Rack & Riddle Launches Alcohol-Removed Sparkling Wine Program
Rack & Riddle, the nation’s leading custom sparkling wine producer, announces the full operational launch of its dedicated alcohol-removed sparkling wine program in partnership with Solos.
Historically, a major sensory and taste barrier has restricted the alcohol-removed wine market, as standard dealcoholization methods systematically remove essential flavor and aroma components along with the alcohol. Even gentle methods typically result in the loss of key crucial aromatic compounds and taste, producing wines that fall short in authentic flavor and mouthfeel.
Rack & Riddle’s operational partnership with Solos solves this challenge. The pioneering Solos technology, originally introduced in Europe, utilizes a two-part Solid-Phase Extraction process to capture and separate fine aroma molecules from the alcohol distillate. These 100% natural aroma compounds are then concentrated and reintroduced back into the dealcoholized wine. By avoiding artificial additives and flavorings, the process maintains the true essence, authentic mouthfeel, and signature flavor profile crafted by winemakers.
“Our customers have been asking for high-quality, full-flavor, alcohol-removed sparkling wines,” said Mark Garaventa, General Manager of Rack & Riddle. “Through our partnership with Solos, we are offering an unprecedented turnkey solution for wineries, retailers, and lifestyle brands. By combining our sparkling wine expertise with world-class aroma recovery technology, we are setting a new quality standard for alcohol-removed sparkling wine in the US.”
Demand for no-alcohol options is skyrocketing, driven by shifting consumer habits where 65% of Gen Z and 57% of Millennials report actively moderating their alcohol intake. With the overall non-alcoholic adult beverage market projected to reach nearly $5 billion by 2028 consumers are seeking premium, full-flavored non-alcoholic beverages for every occasion (source: IWSR). In addition, today’s conscious drinkers are demanding ingredient labeling that reflects transparency, enabling them to make informed consumer choices, without sacrificing the quality, sensory experience, or taste of wine.
The program is already earning industry recognition. Breathless Sparkling Wines’ new Alcohol-Removed Sparkling Rosé, produced in partnership with Rack & Riddle using Solos aroma recovery technology, recently earned a Gold Medal and 91 points in the Non-Alcohol category at the 2026 San Francisco International Wine Competition.
