Italy's Marzotto family, which built Santa Margherita into a Pinot Grigio powerhouse, has purchased the 41-acre Domaine Lumineux vineyard in Oregon's Dundee Hills (previously called Domaine de Broglie and before that known as Vista Hills Vineyard) from Francis Ford Coppola. Terms weren't disclosed.
The property will produce grapes for the company's Roco Winery. The Coppola family retains the Domaine Lumineux brand and tasting room in Newberg, Oregon, with the wines still being produced at a nearby custom-crush facility. Erin Herrmann, Lumineux’s director of operations, said the company plans to buy fruit from the vineyard, as well.
