Seattle to Test Shopping with Alcohol in Hand
A new pilot program will allow people to shop at Seattle's Pike Peak Market with an alcoholic beverage in hand. Guests who want to take part will present their ID and receive a wristband before buying drinks from participating vendors.
The idea is for visitors to linger, shop and dine in the market's 9-acre district. “We built this program to encourage locals to return to the Market, spend more time here, and support the small businesses that are the heart of our community," said Rachel Ligtenberg, President and CEO of the Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority.
