Trump Administration Quietly Softens Stance on Green Cards
The Trump Administration has quietly softened its stance on requiring nearly all immigrants seeking green cards to return to their home countries and apply from there, The Washington Post is reporting.
Late last week, U.S. Customs & Immigration Service officials privately reassured business leaders the most work visas won't be affected and clarified to reporters that most immigrants seeking peremanent residency won't have to leave the country. But it has not issued any formal guidance saying so.
The change in stance follows intensive lobbying by big business and allies.
