Wild Turkey Debuts the Austin Nichols Archives

Wild Turkey's Austin Nichols Archives Collection - the first limited collection led by third-generation Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell. 

The series debuts with the Gold Foil Edition: a 16-year-old, non-chill filtered 120 proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon inspired by one of Wild Turkey's most coveted vintage releases from the 80s and 90s, affectionately known to fans as the "Cheesy Gold Foil.”  

The Gold Foil Edition captures the depth, complexity, and mature oak "funk" that defined an era. The flavor profile is big, sweet, and punchy, with complex flavors of cherry-cola, clove, and dark caramel that gradually fade to tobacco, cocoa, and leather. Combined with that funky oak on the nose, Bruce calls it "probably one of the best smelling whiskeys we've ever done.” 

Named after the wholesale grocer turned liquor distributor that created the Wild Turkey brand in the 1940s, the Austin Nichols Archives Series is designed to commemorate the most coveted vintage bottles from the brand's storied history.  Conceived by Bruce more than a decade ago, this collection aims not to reproduce the flavors of vintage bottlings, but rather to capture their complexity and magnitude, and to create an aroma reminiscent of Wild Turkey dusties of the past.  

Wild Turkey Austin Nichols Archives Gold Foil Edition will be available in limited quantities in select markets beginning this June for a suggested retail price of $400.
