Sale of Uncle Nearest Martha's Vineyard Property Sale Approved
The receiver in the Uncle Nearest financing case was authorized to sell property on Martha's Vineyard for $2.595 million – but none of the proceeds can go to Farm Credit Mid-America while the underlying lawsuit remains pending, U.S District Judge Charles E. Atchley Jr. ruled.
First Texas Cooperage Opens Doors
In a first for the Lone Star State, Standard Cooperage has opened its doors in Blanco, Texas, bringing premium American oak barrel production home to the state's rapidly growing wine and spirits industries. Despite being the fifth-largest wine-producing state and fourth-largest when it comes to craft distilleries, Texas producers have not had a local cooperage to source barrels – adding cost, lead time and supply chain uncertainty to every batch they age.
Revino Receives $4.8M Grant to Build First California Bottle Reuse Facility
CalRecycle has awarded Revino a $4,867,070 grant to establish a first-of-its-kind certified Bottle Washer Processing facility in Lompoc, Calif., that will build the infrastructure for a reusable glass-bottle ecosystem. The facility will be capable of washing 10 million glass beverage containers for reuse annually and is expected to be operational in late 2027.

John Swinney, Scotland's First Minister, the head of its government, visited Independent Stave Co.'s Kentucky Cooperage and Kentucky Bourbon Barrel in Lebanon, Ky., Tuesday. Its new and used cooperage operations support distillers and winemakers around the world, including Scotch whisky producers who rely on high-quality American oak barrels as part of their maturation process.
