Beer Industry in Expansion Territory: NBWA Beer Purchasers' Index

For the fifth consecutive month, the National Beer Wholesalers Association's Beer Purchasers' Index is in positive territory with a combined score of 51. Readings about 50 are considered to signal expansion. All segments recorded year-over-year improvements, led by FMB/seltzer (+16) and Premium Lights (+14)

NBWA's Beer Purchaser's Index Returns to Expansion in April

An increase in expected distributor demand pushed the BPI above the benchmark (50) for the first time in 21 months, with an April reading of 59, NBWA said. The combined index readings for at-risk inventory (48) and BPI (59) place the industry in expansionary territory heading into the summer.
