U.S. Beer Production Dips Another 2.8%
Beer Institute estimates that the volume of beer produced in the U.S. in July that was subject to excise tax was 12 million barrels, down 2.8% from a year earlier. The year-to-date decline is down 5.2%. Andrew Heritage, the Beer Institute's chief economist, notes that Total industry supply decreased 4.9% in July. House Votes to Delay Hemp THC Product Ban
Part of the stop-gap federal funding bill that keeps the government funded until Dec. 11 is a provision that delays recriminalization of hemp THC products that had been scheduled to take place to the end of November. Regenerative Viticulture as Profitable as Conventional Management: Study
Regenerative viticulture can provide comparable profitability to conventional management under Sonoma conditions if yields are similar between systems. Assuming no long-term yield difference between systems, regenerative management averaged about 5% lower in net present value (NPV) across the four vineyards, with single-vineyard differences ranging from 1.9 % to 8.4 %.
